Anna discovered that the CoZee could be a safe and cozy sleeping place for her baby. She was pleased that it didn't sway like some other models, meaning it wasn't waking her in the night when she was trying to soothe her baby for feeds. She also liked that the side of the chair could be lowered so she didn't have to reach over her partner in order to carry the child out for nighttime feedings.
The CoZee is available in charcoal and oak and is a beautiful addition to the bedroom. It's more stylish than other cribs we've tried and are typically utilitarian. It's also relatively lightweight at 11kg and comes with a carry case so you can take it on vacation or when you move house. The only extras you require are a waterproof sheet and a co-sleeping safety strap. There are helpful step-by-step instructions and illustrations to guide you through the process as you open the box which makes it a one-person task if needed.
The Maxi-Cosi lora
The Iora is a bassinet that can be placed at the bedside that helps parents feel closer to their child while they sleep. It can be adjusted both up and down and moved to three different positions for sliding to fit beside the bed of the parent or in the corner to ensure that the infant is always at hand. The mesh siding lets air flow through, and allows you to see your baby quickly. You can also put away any extra pajamas or items in the large basket beneath.
Unlike some other smaller bedside cribs, the Iora folds flat and comes with a travel bag so that it can be taken anywhere. Our mum testers found it easy to move from room to room, and believed that it was a suitable size for a bedside cot, not too big or small. They also loved the large storage basket, that is ideal for storing nappies or bedding.
This is an excellent choice for parents looking to co-sleep, but do not wish to share their beds or whose partners may be suffering from mobility issues, such as arthritis or back issues. Our mums who tested it loved the ease with which they could access their baby in the Iora and that it included an option to have a reflux incline which helped reduce gas.
Our moms appreciate the fact that the mattress is in line with NICE guidelines, which are to place the infant in the crib or Moses basket on its own (with no blankets, toys, pillows, etc). They also say that the mattress is firm and comfortable for babies and is easy to find sheets for. It's not as light as the other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if prefer something lighter and easier to move around, consider a different alternative.
