It can be used as a standalone crib if it isn't attached to the bed. It comes with a variety of incredible features that were designed with the idea of parent-child bonding in mind.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that although this crib is great for infants, it will not last long after your baby turns six months old, which means you will need to invest in larger cots. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide crib was an excellent buy. She loved its sleek design.
The Roomie Glide is available to purchase at John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna thought was an affordable price for a cot with the most advanced features. She liked how it looked in her bedroom and believed its gray color would be appropriate for the majority of modern homes. She also mentioned that it's not an ideal idea to rock a baby in the early years because it can create an unhealthy sleep pattern that can be difficult to overcome later.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee is an award-winning crib for bed designed with a safe night's sleep in mind. It has an adjustable side rail that can be easily lifted to feed your child in the evening without disturbing them or getting out of bed. This is great for breastfeeding mothers! It is also lightweight and easy to move around during nap time or for travel.
It's made of soft materials and features mesh sides that breathe to increase airflow. It's available in charcoal and oak and comes with a variety of melange fabrics that work well with a variety of decor styles. Anna discovered that it was sturdy and secure after being affixed to her bed. The legs slid into place and the zippers were secure to ensure safety. It took Anna about 10 minutes to put together and did not require any tools. There are clear instructions as well as a video, and a customer support number if you have any problems.
As well as the usual features you'd expect from a crib that is bedside such as the ability to attach to your existing bed with a stay-in-place connector system and six levels of height, the CoZee has an additional incline option that can be used to aid congestion or reflux in infants. It can also be washed in the machine essential for all the spills, vomit, and snot that come with a newborn baby!
The CoZee is a great option if you want to keep your child close during the first six months of learning to fall asleep independently. It can be used as a changing station, cot or toddler bed. It can even be converted into a sofa bed with the addition of an extension pack. It isn't able to feed your baby, or magically sleep them it will rock them and send them off!
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of Chicco's more expensive options, but it has a wide array of features. It can be used either a side-sleeper or as a standalone crib and is suitable for babies from birth to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel using the new mechanism. It is also more adjustable than the previous model, with 11 different height settings as well as legs that retract to fit underneath any bed.
Our testers loved the easy access the side panel provides, which can be flipped up and down by pressing the button. This was a huge benefit during night time feeds because it meant they could easily reach inside and pick up their baby without disturbing them up.
The side panel can be removed on its own however it isn't advised as it increases the chance of your baby falling out of the cot. However, the patented safety locking mechanism means that it can only remain in place if it is connected to the bed of the parent correctly. This is a great feature to have for peace mind, particularly in the case of breastfeeding and frequent night feeds.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be a perfect fit for any bed, including divan bases and beds with drawers due to the legs that telescopic. It features a tilting feature to help reflux babies, and a rocking function to help ease them into sleep after a meal. It's also very large and has great ventilation due to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects even with the lengthy instruction manual. It's heavier than some of the other side-sleepers, but it's very portable and can be moved from room room with ease. It's also foldable up into its travel bag, which is great when you need to transport it. The only downside our testers found was that the side panel did not flex like some of the other models, making it a little harder to see your baby from your bed.
The Shnuggle Air
The Shnuggle Air bedside crib is a great choice when you're looking for a crib that can grow with your child. It's designed to be a sleep-co-sleeping bassinet that is attached to your bed and transform into a stylish cot once your baby is ready, it's ideal for feeding your baby at night and fostering a bond with your infant.
Contrary to other models of bedside crib like the Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. Its dual-view mesh side panels and the airflow mattress, which is hypoallergenic and breathable maximize airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline can help to ease colic and reflux, while the zip down side allows you to feed or soothe your baby at night.
The kit for conversion to cot is also well-designed with clear instructions. It comes with everything you need. It took us around an hour to assemble and was reasonably straightforward. The only downside was the absence of captions in writing on a few images, which made it difficult to understand some of the steps. However, overall it was an easy process and the quality of materials used was excellent.
In the co-sleeping mode, we found the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent option for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section, as it allows them to comfortably reach out to their baby to feed and comfort them without having to leave their bed. It's also great for mothers who prefer not to go through the difficulty of getting in and out of a traditional cot, or putting their baby down for a nap.

The motion of gliding was found to be very beneficial in lulling babies to sleep after feedings at midday or night. The drop-down side is also easily accessed to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night, which was a real selling point for our exhausted test moms. Although it doesn't rock or have extra features like a sound machine the Joie Roomie Glide's elegant design and practicality are a welcome addition to our top bedside crib reviews.
